In case you missed it, we did a thing, we invented a sport!
Wednesday 17th May would no longer be known as just another ordinary day. It would now be known as the day history was made. When elite athletes from all over the world (pretty much just Melbourne) pilgrimaged to claim the ultimate prize of World Tinnie Hurling Champions! (insert heavy bass and obnoxious chanting/fist pumping)
A collective hush echoed through Melbourne City as the 'Tins of Glory' World Championships descended into Good Beer Week. The atmosphere? Tense. Anticipation? Drowning in it.
64 'athletes', 32 teams and hundreds of spectators ready to cheer but mostly, jeer.
The night, hosted by The Third Day in North Melbourne, was filled with a heap of laughter, some very interesting team outfits, funky tunes provided by Salty Beats and of course, beer! And lots of it.
