Sunshine, cold tins, and a Gold Coast winter day that felt more like the first day of a Victorian summer. The 2026 Mick Fanning Charity Golf Day delivered the goods once again, raising funds for Australians in need.
The celebrity roster was out in force and ready to swing hard. Tennis superstar Dylan Alcott brought his competitive edge to the greens, while snowboarding wild child Valentino Guseli traded the halfpipe for the fairways. Out on the course, the golf actually produced some serious fireworks. A massive shoutout goes to Cameron Turnbull, who nailed an early hole-in-one and scored himself a fresh EZGO golf cart for his troubles. Not a bad day at the office.
As the afternoon shadows grew long, everyone gravitated toward the Balter Party Hole. The sunset beers were flowing, setting the perfect stage for the ultimate chip-off to win a ‘Buggy for a Balter’. It was Reid Battye who stepped up and stole the show, sinking the winning chip to walk away with a year’s supply of Balter and a Polaris buggy to haul it all around in.
To wrap things up everyone headed to the clubhouse, where additional funds were raised from some wild auctions thanks to a huge raft of generous sponsors. Of course, it wouldn't be a Mick Fanning Golf Day without the event's unofficial spirit animal, Shannon Noll. Nollsy delivered exactly what the people wanted, bringing the house down with a belt-it-from-the-rafters rendition of his hit 'What About Me'." What a way to end the day!
A massive thanks to Mick, Paul Gow and the rest of the MFCGD team for volunteering their time and continuing to rally the troops for a bloody good cause. A big cheers to everyone who showed up, swung a club, and sank a few cold ones too. You legends. It’s an event Balter is ridiculously proud to support and be a part of. This year raised a record $747,000 (and counting!)
See you all next year!
